Protein
One of the keys to a good workout program is a diet that is high in protein. Proteins contain essential and non-essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks for all our proteins in the body. Essential
amino acids are those that our body cannot make on its own and thus, these amino acids must come from the foods we eat. A complete protein is named just that because it will contain all of the essential amino acids our body needs to repair and grow. You should take in 10 to 35% of your daily energy intake. If you consume 2,000 calories per day, this would work out to be between 200 to 700 calories of protein per day. The recommended daily intake (RDIs) can also be calculated by a person’s body weight.
When you are doing one of our workout programs it is suggested that you take in about 70 to 100% of body weight in grams of protein. This amount of protein can add up in the wallet and is very hard to achieve in just your daily diet. This is where protein shake come in handy eight as a way to replace a meal or as a way to hit that protein goal. It is recommended that you take a post-workout shake within 30 min of your workout to get the maximum benefits from it.
